Marks for blogs so far 5/12/07

Natasha
9/10 - Good blog, with detailed notes on what you need to include in your coursework. Have you chosen your website yet? You now need to start analysing it.

Alex
7/10 - You have started to analyse the Dell website, but you need to make sure that you have planned out what you need to cover before you start this. Use the chapter headings in the textbook and write down what you will need to cover for each, just in bullet points.

Abby
8/10 - You have started to plan out what you will include in your coursework, and chosen a website which is good. Your planning could be a little bit more detailed, then you need to start analysing your website.

Emily
8/10 - A good start. Have you chosen your website yet? The planning could be a little bit more detailed, but its generally good.

Liam
7/10 - You have started to look at amazon as your website, and have made a good start. However, you must make sure that your work is planned out before you do this. Use the textbook headings and make bullet points notes showing what you will include in each section.

Sam
9/10 - A good plan for your coursework, that links the textbook to your chosen website. Now you need to start your analysis.

Steph
8/10 - A good plan, although it could be more detailed. I am pleased to see that you have started to analyse your chosen website, it looks good so far.

Transactional Website notes

Use chapter 2.3 in your textbooks to make notes on transactional websites. Pay attention to the chapter headings that it gives you as you will be needed to use these in your coursework. Look at the case studies that it gives and write down your thoughts on the websites given. Do not simply copy what it says in the book, research around the topic from other sources, websites, or textbooks and add to what it says.

Looking at shopping websites

First task for the Digital Economy unit is to choose an online shop. Firstly, describe the features of the shop, how does it work? How do you purchase items?
Then analyse it. What is good about the site? What could be improved? How does it get customers? How does it advertise? What is its target audience? How does it differ from a traditional shop? How is it the same? Does it use special offers? Does it use promotional codes? Does it also have a traditional outlet on the highstreet or is it only online? Does this make any difference? Any other interesting points about it?

Once you have completed your post, go to other peoples blogs and comment on their findings. Do you agree? How does their shop differ from yours? What do you find interesting about their post?
